Fashion designer to speak about style in LGBTA community tonight - The Daily Collegian: Arts & Entertainment

Members of AHANA were each assigned a behind-the-scenes responsibility, ranging from setting up the venue, to obtaining the food, creating fliers and other logistical processes to ensure the quality of this event, Pettiford said. The event calls for students oriented in the fashion scene, but it is open to all students. Students are more than welcome to bring any custom apparel to the event to showcase for Laricks, Parchment (senior-telecommunications) said. Laricks will also speak about how fashion plays a role in students lives, especially students looking to enter the workforce, Pettiford said. I expect for both my peers and I to become more educated on the topics of professionalism and how attire comes into play with professionalism, Pettiford said. Laricks is also expected to share her experience and how she got her position in the fashion industry today, Parchment said.
